Researchers in Japan have found that chimps have better short term memory then humans.  Most people, including some biologists and psychiatrists, believe that human cognitive skills are far better then that of any primate, but according to the research 

&lt;a href="http://www.pri.kyoto-u.ac.jp/ai/index-E.htm"&gt;&lt;img style="float: right; padding: 5px;" src="http://www.pri.kyoto-u.ac.jp/ai/video/video_library/project/Am-Mask9-2.gif"/&gt;&lt;/a&gt;

of &lt;a href="http://www.pri.kyoto-u.ac.jp/koudou-shinkei/shikou/staff/matsuzaw/index.html"&gt;Dr. Tetsuro Matsuzawa&lt;/a&gt; of the &lt;a href="http://www.kyoto-u.ac.jp/"&gt;Kyoto University&lt;/a&gt; in Japan, this is not the case.  Dr. Matsuzawa's results will be published in the &lt;a href="http://www.current-biology.com/"&gt;Current Biology&lt;/a&gt; journal.
